Capture modes – region, window, screen, scroll
Cropy.it offers four capture types: a freely dragged region, a single window, the full screen, and scrolling capture for content taller than the screen. So you pick the right capture for every situation — fast, via menu or hotkey.
The four modes
- Region: drag a rectangle freely; window detection and a pixel loupe help you hit it exactly.
- Window: capture a single app window, cleanly cut out.
- Screen: capture the whole monitor.
- Scroll: stitch long pages, chats and documents into one image.
Where does the capture go?
Every capture lands straight in your clipboard and history and opens for markup in the editor. No detour via the desktop.
Step by step
- Trigger Cropy.it from the menu bar or the hotkey.
- Choose region, window, screen or scroll.
- Drag out the area or click the window.
- The screenshot opens in the editor and is on your clipboard.
Tips & tricks
- For pixel-perfect crops, use the pixel loupe while dragging.
- For whole web pages: scroll mode instead of several single screenshots.
Frequently asked questions
Does capture still work after the trial?
Yes. Region, window and screen stay usable and land on the clipboard; editor, history and scrolling capture are part of the full version.
Does Cropy.it detect windows automatically?
Yes. While dragging, window detection suggests whole windows for a clean cut-out.
