- Protected passwords: You can now keep detected passwords and keys encrypted in the history (Settings → Privacy). Showing and copying them requires Touch ID.
- Better detection: Cropy.it detects far more passwords and access keys, such as API keys, tokens or .env lines, and keeps them out of the history.
- Clear the history: Trash buttons clear the screenshot and clipboard history in one click. Also new: “Delete history automatically”, e.g. after one hour.
- Useful favorites: A star next to the trash button shows only your favorites. Clearing the history now keeps your favorites.
- More security: Security improvements to self-installation, browser capture and license checking.
Release notes
What’s new
Every update for macOS and Windows at a glance. Cropy.it updates itself automatically – there’s nothing you need to do.
- Protected passwords: You can now keep detected passwords and keys encrypted in the history (Settings → Privacy). Showing and copying them requires Windows Hello.
- More security: security improvements to website and PDF capture, updates and license checking.
- Your language everywhere: the labels while capturing (“Full screen”, window size) and the scrolling-capture messages, for example about PDFs or missing permissions, now appear in the language you selected.
- Fully translated: the prompt to move Cropy.it to the Applications folder now appears in your language instead of German.
- Everywhere in your language: the welcome page, the tray menu and dialogs are now fully translated.
- Updates in the background: updates install silently and Cropy.it restarts afterwards – your settings are kept.
- More security: current Electron version with all security updates.
- More reliable: autostart without duplicate entries, smoother scrolling capture in Chrome and Edge, windows adapt to the text length.
- Full-screen apps: Region and scrolling capture now work over apps in full screen. The editor opens right there, without jumping to the desktop.
- More reliable scrolling capture: no gaps, even with uniform lists and text. A menu bar or toolbar included in the selection appears only once at the top. If an area doesn’t scroll, Cropy.it now tells you clearly.
- Close all editor windows at once: right-click the Dock icon.
- The editor now starts with the selection tool instead of the arrow.
